Oh the weather outside is frightful: Vintage winter warmers

As snowflakes continue to tumble down from the leaden UK skies, it’s time to delve into your wardrobe and embrace vintage winter warmers.

As today is also Blue Monday, apparently the most depressing day in the year, I think it’s hugely important to incorporate bright colours to help ward off the winter blues.

In this look book I’ve gone for a scarlet and black combination which gives the wearer the comfort of a ‘safe’ colour paired with bold accents.

LET IT SNOW: Colour-blocking in the cold

When it’s this cold, the temptation is to layer-up à la Michelin Man, but I suggest several thin layers that will not only keep you warmer, but will also give you a slimmer-looking silhouette.

This look goes for form-fitting pieces that are practical, warm and chic, and topped-off with this traffic-stopping vintage red coat and stylish fedora make it the perfect snow day outfit.

What do you think?

  1. That coat is sublime! I adore red all year round, but find I reach for it most during the winter and summer, on the coldest and hottest days of the year, when it’s passion and beauty works splendidly for either.
